This was my first time doing this race. We drove to SF the day before to the expo and pick up the bibs for two other BibRavePro’s. The pre-event was very well organized. They had many volunteers on site to help in the various tasks, but also to direct people traffic to the right spot.
The Half and 10K had an earlier start time than the 5K. This was great because by the time the 5K started the other runs had been done their race a long time ago, which meant there was plenty of parking when we arrived later that morning. I also did the pre-paid parking option which made it hassle free. I just printed the receipt and put it on my windshield.
The 5K race was fun. It started outside of the stadium, went down the marina a little, turned around and ended inside the stadium. There were a lot of families running together. It’s awesome to see families getting exercise and having fun together.
Our race swag included a bobblehead, a t-shirt, a finisher’s medal. I’m not a bobblehead collector, but I found plenty of friends who wanted it, so I gave it away.
At the end of the race after you got your medal there were some snacks available for free. They were handing out carrots, yogurt, milk, applesauce, and pretzels. It was the perfect ending to a race in SF.
I know some people told me that they were concerned with running in San Francisco since it’s known to be extremely hilly there, but it was totally flat the entire time for the 5K distance.
I might have to do this run again next year. It was totally worth it.
