Taking care of a parent: It’s the little things that matter

It’s been 14 months since my mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She most recently was put on hospice in February 2017. There are very few things now that make her happy.

After a month of waiting for a volunteer, the Paws program finally found a volunteer that was willing to bring a dog over to visit my mom. Yesterday was the first visit. William (the pet owner) brought over a Whipit called Wally. This very friendly and loving dog was able to do tricks for my mom and give her some tender loving care (TLC).

It’s these random acts of kindness that warm my heart. I’m very grateful to William for finding the time to visit with Wally.
